11 Bit Studios' Frostpunk Twitter account has let loose a volley at key reseller Kinguin for listing Frostpunk 2 pre-order keys on its website. They don’t even know what prices Frostpunk 2 will get, it doesn’t even have Steam keys … but even so (and here we’ll literally quote the developers), “a shitty cheat” tried to sell the game to Kinguinen (which 11 Bit Studios was also called a scammer, by the way Kinguin and G2A also … so to speak, which is a gray market for Steam codes, for many it is more of a loss for developers). We don't know the price of our game yet, we don't have any keys, said 11 Bit Studios.

So probably anyone who falls in love with the cheater will be surprised later, hey, you’ll still have to pay for the pre-order to get the Steam code (while the game will be there at GOG and the Epic Games store), and the end result you will probably have more expense than a direct process of “upload to Steam, buy the game, I’m happy” … The scam is multilevel: suppose the price of Frostpunk 2 will not be $ 47 C (equivalent to $ 40), but more. In its announcement, the studio even said its wording was directly raw because someone wants to sell a product that doesn’t yet exist. The game is accessed during internal testing, but no codes are generated, so you cannot exchange them or access Frostpunk 2 yourself.
There’s no pre-order campaign either, and the Kinguines case could still cause a lot of problems at 11 Bit Studios, especially if the actual price of the game will be different from the (and let’s say, fictional) prices shown on the site.
